Although Tony no longer manages his own plot, he kindly volunteered to take on the important role of Chair of the allotment committee, acting in this capacity for eight years. As well as steering the Annual General Meeting and keeping us all in check at our regular meetings, Tony provides invaluable support every Sunday in The Trading Shed, and is regularly found loading customers’ cars and wheelbarrows with heavy bags of compost and manure.

“The allotment site has generated a great sense of community and I have enjoyed being a part of this, both as a plotholder and the Chair of the committee. There’s always so much going on, especially on a Sunday, and I would encourage everyone to get involved – we really couldn’t achieve all we do without the team of volunteers who support us.”
